My story from Nazar to "The Crochet Boy"

From a quiet Kashmiri room with no internet, to teaching thousands with just a needle and thread - this isn’t just craft, it’s survival turned into strength.

2016 – Found Hope in Yarn

During a long lockdown in Kashmir, with no internet or outside contact, I picked up crochet. It wasn't just a craft—it became therapy. My healing started with one stitch at a time.

2018 – Broke Every Stereotype

Everyone said, “Crochet is for women.” But when I started posting online, thousands joined me in breaking those boundaries. Support poured in from everywhere.

2020 – Explored New Threads

I didn’t stop at crochet. I explored knitting, weaving, macrame, and embroidery. Yarn became a canvas for every emotion I carried.

2022 – Recognized & Rewarded

In 2022, I was honored with a state award for innovation in craft. It was proof that pursuing your passion pays off—even with a needle and yarn.

2024 – Teaching the World

I loved taking this class and hope to take more classes in the future. I really liked the fact that classes were recorded and we were able to ask questions in the WhatsApp group. I would love to learn more patterns for making smaller things since making bigger things is much more of a commitment. I was able to learn fairly quickly the different stitches that were taught.
